On October 18-19 2019 little Bavaria town of Frankenmuth Michigan played host to a great little event here in Michigan. Big Country Festival took place over the two day weekend. The Harvey Kern Community Pavilion played host for a country concert.

The event opens it’s door both days at 5 pm and ran till midnight. It would feature some great acts across Michigan and Tennessee. So it doesn’t matter if you are young as this little girl below showing off her country time or the oldest person at the event. There was something for everyone to part take in.

But that’s not all the event have to offer, along with great music there were food trucks that gave you something from all area of the world. You could also have kettle corn, try different kinds of pickles, and cotton candy. Of course with all the food you need something to drink there were a few choices on hand with beer, wine, soda, water, and even a craft bloody mary bar.

With the food and game come the most important fun part of the night. Before each night of music would start you were able to take in some line dancing taught by the Dust Stompers.

Each night performers would start at 5:45 pm. The act of Friday night event would kick off with the Billy Gunther Band. He would play a wide array of country music that would get the people up and dancing. Most of which would be top country hits. He would play two sets offering a wide array of soul foul sounds. Following Billy Gunther, would be the great Kari Holmes.

Kari Holmes brings to the stage a voice that is a miss of Lauretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Patasy Cline all rolled into one little signer. She would not only play some of the new great songs of her newest album. But she would take a chance and play Dolly Parton song Jolen song. She would be the headliner for the night and end the party on Friday.

Saturday would start as Friday would with the door opening up at 5 pm. This night’s first performer would be Rebel Line. They bring to the stage a modern-day rock-an-roll flare with a touch of country. They would play hit spanning form the 70’s up to the modern country. They would even preform of there hits Rock Me Country for the crowd to get jumping to.

After their second set for the night would be the headliner Shiatown. They would keep the dance floor full all night long with a wide array of country music. They would play songs like We are Tonight, Good Hearted Woman and finishing the night would be everyone’s favorite Copper Head Road.

So if you miss out, you will have to wait till next year to see what the group at Big Country Festival would bring to the town of Frankenmuth Michigan. But check out below for some of the great snapshots of the night.

As the summer wines down, “The Party of the Summer” is heating things up. With the heat index of 100 plus degrees for two day of the Faster Horses along with the expected rain that is looming it way into Michigan. This wouldn’t stop the staff and crew from putting on the 7th Annual Concert celebration.

This year would be even special for the for the Faster Horses promoter along with staff and crew. Faster Horses was lucky enough to win the American Country Music award for best country festival. As Faster Horse winning this award was just for them icing on a big cake as they planned an even bigger event this year for country music fans around the world.

Michigan place host every year for the Faster Horses Music Festival. The Festival will take place over three day in the small town of Brooklyn Michigan. Faster Horses would make it home just outside turn three at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn Michigan.  This will be their home for the three days of wild country music, camping and other fun activities.

A’s opening day fast approached the crew began turning the quiet town once again into a redneck heaven as fan will call it home for the three day event. This year saw over 35,000 fans descend to Brooklyn Michigan. As Fan came in on day one you have a multiple option for the weekend events. First as a fan you could do the daily drive from wherever you were staying to the three day music festival. If you didn’t want to drive every day you had the chance to buy one of the thousands of campsite that the festival had to offer that where all close buy and within walking distance or by bus that Faster Horse crew offer to get you from the campsite to the festival grounds. You also had a chance to buy one of the special VIP campsites that put you even closer to the festival for a weekend of fun.brainsphotos_20190719_fasterhorses_20190719_dsc_0191_joes-photography-9893262089

But whatever you wanted to due there was a log of choices for the three day weekend. If you choose one of the thousands of campsite. You would never know what you get to see. As the fans at Faster Horses like to go all out. They would not only camp with friends to make one huge campsite that they would be partying all three days from night till day. But Fans would also bring their own personality to there site by showing off their flair of decorations
But most of the fun will come once the gate opened up noon every day for the festival. As fans came in one of the three gates at the festival grounds. There was a lot for them to see and do depending on what way you came in. We start with the gate close to the main stage and walk out from there. So as you came in from this gate you could start you day by grabbing your favorite band, Faster horses or other merchandises for yea to remember the three day event. While you close to the merchandise area you could walk right into the area that is made from Michigan area. Here you can buy all the products that are locally made in the great state of Michigan. Once you came out of the area you could not truly let the fun start. You had you choice of two great stage that will offer music from the three day. The first of which is the “The Next Nashville Stage” presented by DISH NETWORK.

The Next Nashville stage is where you will find the performance of main of the young stars that are hoping to make it big in country music. Then you have the Faster Horses Main stage with two towering video monitor walks that will show the performances of all the main act that was to come for the three days.

The music stages there were few other things to see or due. There were selfie station where you could take photographs to post on your social media, two huge water slide that will come in hand with the heat approaching 100 for the three days, a carnival swing ride along with ferris wheel. There also was a lot of places to get that cold beer, soda, food, or event a slushie flavor with your very adult beverage. Even the major sponsor of Faster Horses Anheuser Busch bought not just the cold drink. But they even set up a play area with games and there own self station. They also had on hand was one of there team of horses that has been seen on Tv.

So as Day one official been kick of by “BOC”, Brian O’Connell with the proclamation of the opening of Faster Horses. This would see that day one would be off and running. To open the show the first act would be kicking off at The Next Nashville Stage present by Dish Network (They will sponsor this stage all weekend long).

The first performer on the stage would be Ross Ellis. Ross Ellis would open the stage with his hit single “Ghost”. He would then follow it up with other great hits bring his rock-n-roll style to The Next Nashville Stage. While Ross Ellis was on stage performing under a tent as the temperature outside would ready above 100 degrees Dee Jay Silver would start spinning some tune to open up on the main stage before the first act would take to it. He would also plan music in between act as well offering a late night party session on The Next Nashville Stage after all the main headliner where done on Friday and Saturday.rossellis_20190719_fasterhorses_20190719__joe0037_joes-photography-9893262089

So following Ross Ellis on The Next Nashville Stage would be the group Everette followed by Laruen Jenkins, Travis Denning and Levi Hummon, Each artist when on the stage about one hour apart from each other ruffly.

Day one main stage would see Tyler Rich kicking things off as fans piled in to get an up and close spot to see their favorite act. He would open with this sone “The DIfference”. Tyler Rich bring smooth country sound to the stage would be following up on deck by Lindsay Ell.

Lindsay would sport some neon shoes and have a crayola color guitar as she performed in the hot Michigan day sun. She would as one point during her performance would get into a guitar batter with her lead guitarist Dane Kinser. They would rift back and forth through most of Lindsay Ell songs list that she played.

Following Lindsay Ell would be the high flying boys of LANCO. They would take the main stage by storm. Turning up the heat (which was already over a 100 degrees at this point) by revving up the crowd and getting them pump up with their songs. But as the crowd got even more pump up the boys of LANCO would draw upon their energy. Lead vocalist Brandon Lancaste would run from one end of the stage next with each part of the song they would sing, there wouldn’t be a spot that he didn’t run or walk to to keep the fans entertained. Even at one point getting on a giant duck to ride on with the help of the fans.  With LANCO heating things up with their big hit, Brett Young would be the one to make them all melt.

As boyish Brett Young would take to the stage, he would make the fans just melt their hearts. His soft voice would them wanting to smother him with their bodies as the song “In Case You Didn’t Know”. But then he would pick up the tempo getting the crow to sing along with a few of his greatest hits.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Maren Morris would be the only girl of day one. She would strut her stuff like Barbra Streisand as started off singing at the back for the stage before walking down a light up a set of stairs. She would get the lady to help her sing some of her great his that she played during her performance.

Keith Urban would follow up Maren Morris to end day one at Faster Horses as night would follow on the crowd. Keith Urban would show case why this would be his second year at Faster Horses. Not just by playing his new tops his along wish some of his greatests song. Keith would show off his talents by playing his very one guitar riffs at the end of the long stage.marenmorris_20190719_dscn0156_joes-photography-9893262089

As Keith Urban would close out the night one day one the party wasn’t over as Dee Jay Silver would be hosting a night party on The Next Nashville stage just as Keith Urban finish is set. So for those that didn’t want the party to end they could hang out there for a while and keep the dancing going before they head back to the places they are calling home for the three day event.

As the rooster would crow in the morning Day two started off with a bang. For those that wanted to do something for fun if they weren’t too hung over to help get the blood pumping once again for the days activities.

At 9 am Saw the 4th Annual Faster Humans Fun run. This annual event is where fans can not only come out and have some fun by getting their hearts pumping with a little run around the Michigan International Speedway, but it also help a great charity. This year’s charity would be the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For a $20.00 each racer got to run around the track plus a pancake breakfast and t-shirt. They also had the chance to win prizes as fan came out dress not only in normal running gear but also in costumes of all shapes and sizes. All the money from this race is donated to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital to help fight cancer.

As the Faster humans would run the track to kick off day two. The stage would heat thing up once again even as mother nature was about to break her own heat record across the state.

Day two would open up with Dillon Carmicheal on The Next Nashville Stage. He would be followed up by WaterLoo Revival, Davisson Brother, SongWritters StormJam and Matt Stell.

The main stage would open up once again with DEE Jay Silver spinning the tune just before Danielle Bradbery would take the stage. Danielle Bradbery was the winner of the 2013 (Season 4) of the Voice. She would heat things up with her own version of the song “Shallow”. While she heated things up, she knew how to dress for the hot weather that Michigan was having and wasn’t going to let ups. She would get the fan going by coming out in jeans and a sport bra to help keep herself cool as she sang her hit song and moving to every inch of the stage.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Next to brave the heat would be Mitchell Tenpenny. He looked like he was ready to jump into a redneck country pond sporting colorful shorts. He would get the crowd going with his song “Drunk Me” which would fit into the theme of Faster Horses and the party that is brings. Following Mitchell Tenpenny would be Morgen Evans.mitchelltenpenny_20190720_fasterhorses_20190720__joe1104_joes-photography-9893262089

Morgen Evans hailing from Australia would make his new home in Tennessee. He would be one main band on stage for his performances. He would do this by playing his guitar and using an instrument that not only would play back music, but also allow him to record as well. He even told the fans at one point that if he screwed up it would also be on tape as well so everything he sang was record live as he did it right there on stage.

As Morgan Evans played on stage in the background the staff and crew of Faster Horses started to worry as they saw a fast approaching storm system coming into their radar view. So as they watch they made the choice for fan safety due to the high winds that were coming with it to stop the event for a few hours to let it pass by. So as Brian O’Connell would make the long walk down the stage fan knew what was coming even to their disappointment. He would tell the fans that they are doing a mandatory evacuation from the festival grounds and that everyone should head back to their cars or campsite to wait out the fast approaching storm. The fan did so calmly head to the exits, so they could go to their cars. Fans were told to watch Faster Horses Social Media account for when they were able to return to the grounds. As they all where gone mother nature hit Brooklyn Michigan wish high wind that would down power line and trees in the surrounding area. Even a few people post that they lost their tent in the high winds on facebook groups site for the festivalmorgenevens_20190720_fasterhorses_20190720__joe1179_joes-photography-9893262089

So around 8 pm the fans were notified by social media that they could start returning to head in at 8:45 pm. This would push back all the artist for both stage back about 3 hours giving everyone a small break. As the crew would make there way around to make sure there wasn’t anything that need repaired after the storm fan began to line up once again. This would leave Randy Houser to be on the main stage to get the crowd pumped up once again. To do this Randy Houser would play hit song “Boot On” and other songs like “Like A Cowboy”. While Randy Houser got them going back on the main stage. Matt Steel would get the crowd pumping over on The Next Nashville Stage. This gave way to the dueling of two stage for fan to pick which one they wanted to go back to.

After Randy Houser performance the boys of Old Dominion would come to the main stage. They were pumped to get the fan going before the main headliner. They would start their show with the song “Snap Back”. Lead vocalist Mathew Ramsey would sing his way down to the end of the stage then would be followed shortly by Brat Trsi for a guitar battle at the end of the stage.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

To end out the night of musical entertainment would be Toby Keith. He would close out the main stage.

As the final day approach look like this will be the day mother nature might pass us by from the bad weather that hit the day before. On Sunday fun day was the last day of the festival. Here would be the day that you could also see beside the live music like the nights before. But would also place host to the Hustle and Muscle classic car and truck show starting at noon.

This time it would see the main stage open up with Cassadee Pope. She would come out on stage and make everyone melt in to arms. She did this by two ways sing her song “Take Me Home” that got everyone going and wearing a sexy long flannel redneck looking shoot with her boots on. She was ready to kick her heel up and take name in the outfit. Special as she move from one hit song to the next.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

While Cassadee would finish her set, this would see The Next Nashville Stage open up with Caylee Hammack followed by SeaForth, Kassi Ashton and Hardy. For the fans that visit the Dish Network booth who sponsored The Next NashVille Stage they had the chance to enter a drawing all weekend long to sit in on a special Question and Answer with the performer Hardy.
Hardy not only would play his show on The Next Nashville Stage, but doing his special one on one session with Faster Horses Fans (winner of the Dish Network Contest) would get a try of him signing a few tunes while answering all their questions. The question range from what do you like doing on your time off to what you ready along with what was your favorite Singer growing up. This was just a few of the things that were asked.

While Hardy was putting on a special performance for a selected fans. On the main stage saw Michael Ray performing. He would get the fan jumping and dancing int here spot with his hit songs “Kiss You In The Morning,” “Think A Little Less,” “One That Got Away” and “Her World Or Mine,”hardy_20190721_fasterhorses_20190721__joe2285_joes-photography-9893262089

After Michael Ray was Dylan Scott. Dylan would keep the energy up for the fans by playing his hit song. He would at one point take the time to just walk down with two of his band mate as if they were going to hang out and just party with about 40,000 of their closest friends. Then he would take to the stage exploring every inch of it to make sure that all of his fans got to see him no matter where they might be sitting or standing. He would finish is night by singing his hit song “My Girl”.

Kip Moore would be next one stage. He would turn thing up even more by playing his hit song “Wild One”. As he sang his hit song he made everyone feel welcome by walking over every inch of the stage. He even stop at one point to walk over and hang out with the sign language interpreter. Here as he sang his song she would dance and sign out the word to the music he was playing as he swung his arm around her. Just before he left her to move to the other side of the stage he would plant a big wet kiss on top of her forehead. I am sure at this point all the fans out there wish it was them getting the kiss. As he sang his song on stage which we all know can take a toll on the body and you need to stop and take a drink of water from time to time. Well Kip Moore did it redneck style as he walked past his microphone stand. Kipp took a big drink from a bottle of Jack Daneil’s old #7 whiskey and without a beat keep singing his song.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Following up Kipp Moore would be the grammy award winners of the Brothers Osborne, who for one of them looked like he just step off of a viking ship. Tj and John Osborn would put the stage on fire as they play there hit song “Shoot Me Straight” As they played one stage they must have been too fired up. Cause old Michigan mother nature say well let’s put a damper on this mood, as she down poured for a little while with rain. But that didn’t stop the brothers, as fan stay in there spot splashing away in the rain cause the Brother Osborn to play even harder for the fans as they them self got wet also.

The rain would slow to small mist as they would finish their set just in time for the Zac Brown Band to come to the state to finish out the night performances. As he finishes out the show fireworks would be launch to signal the end of the Faster Horse Music Festival.

So with mother nature trying to play a big role in this year fun at Faster Horses with heat indexs of well over a 100 degrees and throwing in some while wind and crazy rains. The fain and band still put on the biggest show in Michigan.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

You can see while this event had one the American Country Music award for Best Concert Festival. Cause if you have never been here then you miss out. It like if the aliens had landed here on earth, their only reason they came was to join everyone at Faster Horses for the biggest Party Of The Summer.

See you all next year for another wild list of great acts and performances.

With each of the actors and actress that were on hand that the fans got to meet. There was chance to get up and close personal with them and get their autographs or personal photos taken with them as well just like other comic con. You also had the chance to check out there panel as well to learn a little about them or ask question about their careers or what they got coming up.

There was also many other panels as well like a medieval combat sports that show the history and how combat of the age of steel where fought. Another room was for young kid so they could go in and do a big of art making as well giving parent a bit of time to sit down and relax a bit.

As usual there was a huge cosplay contest (for those that don’t know what cosplay is, it where people dress up or make home costume of their favorite characters from mainstream media). This always get a lot of great costume for contest some which could be seen below. Cosplay tend to spend year on making their costume and so just day each bring their character to life and portraying them the way they could have them act.

Now if the panels or the contest wasn’t for you then it was possible to also due a bit of shopping as well. There was many artist along with vendor on hand selling all them hard to find items or the next issue of the comic , book, drawing, or toy.  Some of the items that were on sale for people to buy was also hand made for that special touch.

So there was a lot to see and due. If you miss out you just have to wait one more year to see if it make it way back to us. One good thing is that even though this year was small comic con at Cobo Hall they have lot more room to grow from adding more panels with all the available space along with add more media star along with vendor. We can hope that next year they that artist alley will next up two more room to make it even huge. That way people will get more choice to thing they want to buy along with help finding that hard to find items.

We see what happen and what next year bring to this great event. So check out some of the photo below.
